Rich and lush flora grows here and attracts botanists for more than 200 years. On the naturally preserved grasslands you can find rare species growing: Alpine Sea Holly (Eryngium alpinum), Wormwood (Artemisia nitida), Hawksbeard (Crepis bocconi), the Pyrenean violet (Viola pyrenaica), as well as the endemic plant species: monkshood (Aconitum angustifolium), Moehringia villosa. Mount Črna Prst is the typical locality for Lousewort (Pedicularis verticillata and Pedicularis julica). Among the specialties there are also Silver Cranesbill (Geranium argenteum), Cream Clover (Trifolium noricum) and the endemic Short-haired Sandwort (Moehringia villosa), and others.
